Classic Safaris

On our classic safaris, we travel in 4×4 Land Cruisers visiting beautiful National Parks, Conservancies and Reserves, staying in small lodges and permanent tented camps. We opt for these small, intimate camps and lodges as they are not accessible to large scale tourism operations. With exceptionally beautiful scenery and healthy wildlife populations we can experience Africa in its natural state. We like to avoid the masses of people jostling to look at the same big cat in busy national parks when possible, but when we must, we make sure the experience is as personal as possible. Original architecture and luxurious comfort is big a feature of these camps & lodges.

Check out Our Vehicles if you are interested in finding out more about your mode of transport.

Below are two examples of the types of classic safaris we offer.

The Southern National Parks

The southern region of Kenya contains varied and exceptional landscapes. On this classic safari we visit two Maasai Community areas that really display how harsh and also bountiful Kenya can be. We start in the Lake Magadi region for two nights, the famous pink soda lake where huge flocks of flamingos feed in the warm waters. We then drive east, from Amboseli to Tsavo East & West National Parks where you have the opportunity to visit the largest wildlife sanctuaries of Kenya as well as viewing the wildlife against the dramatic backdrop of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Our last visit is a unique opportunity to spend time in an exclusive location amongst a small herd of young elephants as they are being rehabilitated into the wilds of the park. You can watch them feed and accompany them during the day as they wander through the bush as well as participate in bath time! This waterhole offers a unique truce between wild elephants, humans and the young elephants being rehabilitated. This is truly a once in a lifetime experience that you cannot find elsewhere.

Northern Kenyan Lakes & Desert

Northern Kenya has always carried the mystique of the remote and unexplored. To travel there is still an expedition where we need to be fully independent with food, water and fuel. Meetings with traditional tribes, people and the spectacular northern landscapes will leave you with the wildest memories. There has been little development in this ‘forgotten’ land in the past years and local people live still in a very traditional manner. We depart Nairobi and head north to Lake Turkana. The arid beauty of the immense Lake Turkana spreading out in the desert landscape of the Chalbi Desert will impress you. After five nights around Lake Turkana and the Chalbi Desert, we turn south for Samburu country’s mountain ranges. We stop for a night in Samburu Reserve which will give you the chance to see the big African game as well as several species unique to the area before returning to Nairobi.
