Bloodhounds helping the fight against poaching in southern Kenya.

The Maasailand Preservation Trust under the management of Richard Bonham operates an antipoaching unit to protect wildlife in the various group ranches between Tsavo West and Amboseli National Parks.

The pressure is high on the Chyulu side of the Mbirikani Group Ranch, which borders the Wakamba country.  These people have always supplemented their diets with game meat.

As expert hunters they are difficult to catch, but lately Richard introduced an innovative weapon: two St Hubert Bloodhound hunting dogs.
